Can you use neck cream on your face?

Face and neck care have substantial overlap: both areas benefit from moisturizing ingredients and protection against sun damage. Neck skin can actually be thinner and more sensitive than facial skin. That does not make every neck cream a good facial match, though. The ingredient list matters more than the body part printed on the jar, which is not a border checkpoint.1

What should you check before trying goPure?

For oily or acne prone skin, look for noncomedogenic labeling, meaning the product is formulated not to clog pores. Do not assume goPure carries that claim without checking the packaging. Rich, occlusive moisturizers, which form a layer that limits water loss, can aggravate acne. If breakouts are your main concern, a facial moisturizer with clear noncomedogenic labeling is the more practical choice.34

For sensitive skin, look for little or no fragrance and review the ingredients for anything you already react to. Fragrances can cause irritation or allergic reactions. Glycerin is a moisturizing ingredient used in creams for sensitive skin, but one helpful ingredient does not make the whole formula suitable.2

How should you try it on your face?

  1. 1Test the cream on your inner arm for a few days before applying it across your face. This is general guidance for trying a new cream, not a goPure dosing schedule.
  2. 2Cleanse with a mild cleanser. If you are using the cream as a moisturizer, apply it after washing; moisturizers work best immediately after bathing.
  3. 3Follow the jar's application directions. General moisturizer frequency depends on dryness: slightly dry skin can need only a light moisturizer at night. There is no reason to adopt a more frequent schedule just because the product is called a neck cream.
  4. 4In the morning, finish with broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Cover your face and exposed neck, apply before going outdoors, and reapply every two hours outdoors and immediately after swimming or sweating.

What does neck cream do?

As a moisturizer, a suitable neck cream adds moisture, softens skin and helps reduce water loss. Those effects support the skin barrier, the outer layer that helps keep moisture in. Moisturizing can make fine lines look less noticeable, which is useful work without promoting the jar to a facelift. Additional benefits depend on the actual ingredients, not the neck cream category.4

Does goPure neck cream work?

For dryness, moisturizing is a useful goal. Visible firming is a separate question: whether goPure produces a firming effect on the face, and how long that takes, remains uncertain. Choose it for facial use based on its ingredients, directions and how your skin tolerates it, rather than treating a firming claim as a promised result.4

When should you stop using it?

Stop using the cream if an itchy, inflamed rash develops. Moisturizers can cause irritation or contact allergy, and suspected ingredient allergies can be investigated with medical patch testing. If a rash or another skin problem persists or worsens, contact a dermatologist.34
