Does the type of sunscreen matter?

Sunscreens formulated with water dispersed in oil are the specific case where a makeup remover is supported. That describes the sunscreen's overall formula, not whether its sun protection ingredients are mineral or chemical. Mineral, chemical and hybrid sunscreens all form a protective layer on the skin.23

Water resistant sunscreen is not waterproof, even if the name sounds like it has hired security. On a US sunscreen label, water resistance means protection remains effective on wet skin for 40 or 80 minutes. Those minutes describe sun protection in water, not how long you should massage a cleanser or whether you need two washes.3

Do you need a second cleanser?
