Does the cream contain 9% hyaluronic acid?

No. The 9% refers to the combined amount of hyaluronic acid, three ceramides, shea butter and glycerin, not hyaluronic acid alone.1

The cream is for dry, sensitive skin on the face and body. It is lightweight, absorbs quickly and provides 48 hours of hydration. It is free of fragrance, parabens and dyes and has National Eczema Association acceptance. Known ingredient allergies still matter when choosing an accepted product.1

What is different about Healing Ointment?

The US Healing Ointment has one active ingredient: petrolatum at 41%, a skin protectant. "Inactive" is a label category, not an accusation of unemployment. Healing Ointment is fragrance and preservative free, but it contains lanolin alcohol, which matters if you are avoiding that ingredient.23

Choose the cream for lightweight face and body moisture. Healing Ointment is intended to temporarily protect and help relieve chapped or cracked skin and lips, protect minor cuts, scrapes and burns, and protect against drying wind and cold. Aquaphor advises checking your package because ingredient lists can change.123

How do you use Healing Ointment?

Apply as needed. For dry hands, Aquaphor suggests using a protective cream or ointment multiple times daily. For an overnight hand treatment, follow these steps:24

2. 2Gently pat your hands dry with a clean towel.
3. 3Apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment.
4. 4Cover your hands with 100% cotton gloves overnight to help retain moisture.

Keep Healing Ointment out of your eyes. Do not use it on deep or puncture wounds, animal bites or serious burns. Stop using it and ask a doctor if the condition worsens, symptoms last more than seven days, or symptoms clear and return within a few days.2
