Keep moisturizer in your routine
For dry skin, the practical foundation is daily moisturizer. Apply moisturizer after washing, while some water remains on your skin, to help trap that water. This is general moisturizing guidance, not a special Snail 96 application method. Keep moisturizer in the routine, because the word "essence" has not made it redundant.2
Snail 96 is not Radiance Dual Essence
COSRX sells Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and Advanced Snail Radiance Dual Essence as separate products. Check the full name before buying, because the snail collection has enough similar names to require attendance.3
Snail 96 is the single phase essence with 96% snail mucin. Radiance Dual is a different formula with 74.3% Triple Snail Complex and 5% niacinamide. COSRX specifically targets dry and rough skin with Radiance Dual, but that does not make its formula or directions interchangeable with Snail 96.1
COSRX Snail 96 Mucin Essence for oily skin
Oily skin can still need moisturizer when it feels dry. Do not use surface oiliness alone to decide whether to skip moisturizing, especially if acne treatment is drying your skin. For choosing a moisturizer, look for an oil free or noncomedogenic label, meaning it is unlikely to cause acne. Those are moisturizer selection criteria, not a claim that Snail 96 cannot cause breakouts.2
COSRX Snail 96 Mucin Essence for acne prone skin
Use hydration as support for an acne routine, not as a substitute for acne treatment. Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, adapalene, tazarotene, tretinoin and prescription isotretinoin tend to dry and irritate skin. Daily moisturizer can help skin tolerate those treatments. If you need help choosing products that moisturize without worsening acne, a dermatologist can build a treatment plan that includes an appropriate moisturizer.2
