What are the ingredients in COSRX Snail 96 Mucin Essence?

The full ingredient list

Snail Secretion Filtrate, Betaine, Butylene Glycol, 1,2 Hexanediol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Ethyl Hexanediol, Carbomer, Panthenol, Arginine.1

In the ALL ABOUT SNAIL KIT, the essence sits alongside a cleanser, an eye cream and a cream. The kit contains four separate products, not one formula wearing four different outfits. Use the ingredient list for Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, rather than the neighbouring lists for the other products.1

What is the snail ingredient for?

Snail secretion filtrate replenishes moisture to support the skin barrier and soothe sensitized skin after breakouts. Moisture support is the useful reason to consider this essence, rather than treating it as a niacinamide product.1

How do you apply the essence?

1. 1Cleanse your skin first.
2. 2Apply an appropriate amount of Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence evenly, avoiding the eye area.
3. 3Follow with your eye cream, if used, then your cream.

Does COSRX Snail 96 Mucin Essence contain niacinamide?

Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and Advanced Snail Radiance Dual Essence are different products, despite names that seem determined to attend the same roll call.12

If you specifically want a snail essence with niacinamide, Advanced Snail Radiance Dual Essence contains 5% niacinamide and a 74.3% Triple Snail Complex. Its formula also includes glutathione and meadowfoam, sunflower, macadamia and argan oils. Those ingredients belong to Dual Essence, not the Snail 96 formula above.34

Dual Essence also has different application directions: pump an appropriate amount, mix the two essences, apply gently to the face and gently tap into the skin. Choose Snail 96 if you want the listed formula without niacinamide; choose Dual Essence if niacinamide is part of what you want from the product.12
