How should you wash with it?
These steps are general cleanser instructions, rather than SKINTIFIC's product directions. For dry skin, use enough cleanser to remove dirt and oil without building a thick lather. Foam is not a progress report.3
- 1Wet your face with warm water.
- 2Apply cleanser to your hands and gently massage it over your skin. Avoid scrubbing.
- 3Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
- 4Gently pat your face dry with a clean towel rather than rubbing.
- 5Apply moisturizer after washing. If your skin is dry, apply it while your skin is still damp.
Should you use it morning and night?
For acne prone skin, washing with a mild cleanser twice daily is standard general guidance. Morning and bedtime are practical times, with makeup removed at night. Washing after exercise also helps remove sweat. Avoid repeatedly washing your face throughout the day to chase away shine: frequent washing can irritate skin and worsen symptoms. More washing is not a substitute for choosing a cleanser your skin tolerates.124
Does it suit your skin type?
- For dry skin, look for a gentle cleanser labeled fragrance free. Follow washing with moisturizer; a cream or ointment adds more moisture than a lotion.
- For sensitive skin, pay attention to stinging during or just after cleansing. Sensitive skin often reacts easily, and a gel texture alone does not settle whether a cleanser will be comfortable.
- For oily skin, cleansing removes excess surface oil, but genes and hormones play a key role in oil production. A cleanser's job is to remove surface oil and dirt, not to negotiate with the glands producing them.
- For acne prone skin, look for products labeled oil free and noncomedogenic, meaning designed not to block pores. Do not assume SKINTIFIC has these properties from its name.
What results should you expect?
Cleansing removes surface dirt, excess oil, makeup and sunscreen. That is different from treating acne, which involves blocked hair follicles and oil glands rather than simply dirty skin. Cleansing and acne treatment are different jobs, even when the bathroom shelf puts them next to each other. Acne treatments can take several weeks or months to show convincing improvement; that timeline is not a promise of results from this cleanser.124
What goes on after cleansing?
Follow with a moisturizer suited to your skin. General options include a gel moisturizer for oily skin, a lighter lotion for normal or combination skin, and a richer moisturizer for dry skin. For daytime sun protection, choose a broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. If you already use an acne treatment, be cautious about adding an acne treatment cleanser: combining too much treatment can cause excessive dryness and irritation.123
When should you stop or get help?
Stop using a product that causes severe irritation and seek medical advice. Tell a dermatologist if skincare causes burning, stinging or irritation, or if dryness continues despite gentle washing and moisturizing. Painful or widespread acne that has not responded to pharmacy treatments needs medical assessment rather than more cleansing.234
