Which Collagen Peptide 24 product should you choose?

What is in the serum?

The US Visibly Firming Serum lists niacinamide, also called vitamin B3, alongside glycerin, dimethicone, panthenol and the peptide palmitoyl pentapeptide 4. Olay describes niacinamide as helping skin retain moisture and supporting surface cell turnover. The serum's ingredient list contains no retinol, so this exact serum is not a retinol treatment. Do not extend that ingredient list to the creams or MAX formulas.3

Do collagen peptides actually work?

Peptides are molecules that can act as signals in the skin. Some cosmetic peptides are designed to influence the extracellular matrix, the supporting material around cells. Their practical limits are absorption and often weak clinical evidence: getting a peptide into a formula is not the same as getting enough of it into skin to produce a visible change. Penetration can be improved through chemical modification, encapsulation or other formulation methods. Treat peptide skincare as an option for modest cosmetic improvement, not a way to rebuild facial contours.5

For the standard cream, Olay advertises smoother looking texture on day one and firmer looking skin with less noticeable fine lines after two weeks. These are cosmetic appearance goals. Keep expectations focused on moisture, texture and modest changes in lines rather than dramatic lifting.123

How do you use Collagen Peptide 24?

Who does it suit?

Olay lists the US serum for normal, dry and oily skin. For dry skin, a cream generally retains more moisture than a lotion, and an ointment retains more still.
