What does BYOMA Rich Cream feel like?

Rich Cream has a thick texture and is designed to soften and deeply moisturize dry skin. Rich Cream is BYOMA's thicker option for dry skin, so the name is doing unusually useful work. Choose it if you want a substantial cream rather than the lighter finish of a gel. A thick texture does not tell you exactly how the cream will settle on your face: customers describe both quick absorption and a waxy feel.12

What is in Rich Cream?

The formula contains glycerin, shea butter, bakuchiol, ceramide NP, cholesterol and fatty acids. BYOMA calls its blend of ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids the Tri Ceramide Complex. These are three types of skin lipids, or fats, rather than a claim that the cream contains three different ceramides. Your skin barrier is its protective outermost layer; ceramides help that layer retain moisture.45

Moisturizers work through ingredients that attract water, soften rough skin and limit moisture loss. These functions are called humectant, emollient and occlusive effects. Shea is an emollient that helps smooth and soften dry skin. For choosing a moisturizer, the ingredient mix matters more than the price, because the price tag is not another skincare benefit.5

How do you apply BYOMA Rich Cream?

  1. 1Cleanse your face. For dry skin, use a gentle, fragrance free cleanser.
  2. 2Apply your serum if you use one. BYOMA places Rich Cream after serum in its routine.
  3. 3Apply 1 to 2 pumps of Rich Cream and smooth it over your skin until fully absorbed. Repeat morning and night.
  4. 4In the morning, apply broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
26

For dry skin generally, apply moisturizer while your skin is still slightly damp after washing or bathing. Pat away excess water rather than rubbing your skin dry. After a shower, applying moisturizer within three minutes helps trap moisture. Dry skin can need moisturizer several times a day, including whenever it feels dry; that is general dry skin care, separate from BYOMA's twice daily directions.56

What results should you expect?

Expect a moisturizer focused on hydration and softness, not a dedicated blemish treatment. BYOMA reports a 70% immediate increase in moisturization after one use, alongside protection of the skin barrier and reduced sensitivity. That percentage describes a measured hydration change, not how much better your skin will look. For persistent dryness, regular moisturizing matters more than judging a single application.25

Choose Rich Cream when dryness and a richer finish are your priorities. Consider Blemish Control when you want a lighter moisturizer with salicylic acid, which exfoliates to help clear pores and balance excess oil. Blemish Control also targets visible redness and the appearance of marks left by blemishes. Its lightweight description does not mean every user finds it non greasy; customer reports include both a light finish and greasiness.13

What about BYOMA Gel Cream?

Moisturising Gel Cream is BYOMA's lighter option for oily and blemish prone skin, with niacinamide and green tea. BYOMA describes a gel cream texture that absorbs quickly without a heavy finish. Rich Cream and Gel Cream offer different finishes, so the longer sounding product name is not a qualification. On BYOMA's US moisturizer page, Gel Cream is listed at $14.99 and Rich Cream at $15.99; those are separate US prices, not conversions of the UK prices above.1

Is Rich Cream suitable for sensitive skin?

BYOMA describes the UK Rich Cream as fragrance free and noncomedogenic, meaning formulated not to clog pores. The National Eczema Association also lists BYOMA Moisturizing Rich Cream in its Seal of Acceptance directory. Fragrance free does not mean allergen free: the formula contains plant ingredients, including shea butter and olive fruit oil. If you have eczema, sensitive skin or known allergies, check the ingredients for your specific triggers and ask your clinician about suitability when needed.245

When should you get help for dryness?

Tell a dermatologist if moisturizer causes burning, stinging or irritation. If dryness persists despite gentle cleansing and regular moisturizing, arrange a dermatology appointment. Persistent dryness can have an underlying cause that needs treatment beyond a cosmetic cream. If you already have a prescribed dry skin treatment plan, follow it; your clinician can adjust the moisturizer or medication as your skin heals.6
