Why add moisturizer after the essence?

The Snail 96 Essence forms a protective film that helps keep moisture in, but moisturizer remains the usual next step in a routine containing an essence. Moisturizers add moisture and reduce water evaporating from the skin. The essence and cream have different jobs in your routine, despite the snail getting both naming credits.123

Moisturizers can combine humectants, which attract and retain water, with emollients, which soften skin, and occlusives, which form a barrier against water loss. You do not need to buy three separate products for those three jobs. Choose the finished moisturizer by how much dryness you have and how heavy a texture you need.34

How do I layer Snail 96 Essence?
