This guide covers the 50 mL cream listed by COSRX Korea, not a toner or another COSRX cream. The name reads like a routine compressed into one product, but the buying decision still comes down to the formula.1

What ingredients are in the cream?

The formula includes the following ingredients:

  • Glycolic acid, betaine salicylate, ascorbyl glucoside and lactobionic acid.
  • Niacinamide, alpha arbutin and tocopherol.
  • Betaine, panthenol, allantoin and sodium hyaluronate.
  • Macadamia seed oil and cetearyl alcohol.
  • Kiwi fruit extract, dragon fruit extract and sea buckthorn water.
  • Menthyl lactate, Mentha Haplocalix extract and bergamot fruit oil.

An ingredient name alone is not enough to choose an exfoliating strength. AHA products come in different concentrations and bases, so do not treat this cream as interchangeable with a dedicated glycolic acid treatment.3

What can you expect from the acids?

AHAs, short for alpha hydroxy acids, loosen the substances that hold dead surface skin cells together. That helps the cells shed and can improve the appearance of uneven colour and texture. Glycolic acid is an AHA used in skincare for signs of ageing and can also help skin prone to acne. These are general ingredient benefits, not a measured result for this particular cream.3

Facial acids need regular use and time to work. Do not set a fixed deadline for smoother skin or fading marks with this cream. More frequent exfoliation is not a shortcut: excessive exfoliation can strip away structures that retain water and healthy fats, leaving skin irritated.4

How should you introduce it?

Use a cautious introduction based on general acid skincare advice, and follow the directions on your own package.

  1. 1Start with the cream rather than introducing several new acid products together.
  2. 2For glycolic acid products, a cautious starting schedule is once or twice a week at night.
  3. 3Increase frequency only if your skin is not irritated; the word Daily is not a personal dosing instruction.
  4. 4Use SPF 30 or higher sunscreen on your face every day, because facial acids can increase susceptibility to sun damage.

Who should be careful?

Sensitive skin needs particular care with strong exfoliating ingredients. The cream also contains bergamot fruit oil. Essential oils can cause irritation or allergies, so an essential oil containing formula deserves extra scrutiny if you already know you react to those ingredients.12

Glycolic acid can be used during pregnancy. During pregnancy or breastfeeding, have your clinician review the whole formula rather than choosing by the glycolic acid alone, particularly if you also use a separate salicylic acid preparation.35

Can you use BHA and vitamin C together?

The COSRX cream combines ingredients under an AHA, BHA and vitamin C product name, but that is not a reason to layer separate treatments automatically. BHAs are oil soluble exfoliating acids that work deeper in pores than AHAs and help dissolve sebum, the oil produced by skin. Salicylic acid is a common BHA used for blackheads and whiteheads; this cream lists betaine salicylate instead.14

If your separate BHA product is a salicylic acid medicine, follow its label. Do not add other medicated treatments, such as benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids, or other exfoliating products to the same area unless your doctor directs you to do so. Those precautions concern salicylic acid preparations, not a confirmed interaction with this COSRX formula.5

Can you use AHA and vitamin C together?

Yes, AHA products and vitamin C can belong in the same routine. Alternating them is one supported approach rather than applying both in the same session. Leave on AHA products are generally used at night, while a separate vitamin C product can be used in the morning. If you already use this combined cream, an additional vitamin C product is a separate decision, not a required finishing step.34

Avoid adding an exfoliating mask that duplicates acids already in your routine, because the extra exfoliation can trigger dryness and irritation. An exfoliating mask adds another exfoliating step, not an administrative requirement for owning a cream.2

When should you stop?

Do not increase use while your skin is irritated. If you add an exfoliating mask and feel itching, burning or stinging, wash the mask off immediately. See a dermatologist if your skin feels worse after using it. For a separate salicylic acid preparation, seek medical advice for moderate or severe irritation, flushing, or unusually warm and red skin.245
